Make the Establishment Great Again!

For years, Nikki Haley has wanted to be Donald Trump’s Vice President... and now she is using her 2024 candidacy to finally make her VP dream a reality by following the lead of the former president as they've combined to spend over $30 million against Ron DeSantis, all while she refuses to attack Trump.

Get the Facts on Nikki's VP Dream

Haley tried to replace Mike Pence on Trump’s ticket in 2020.

  • In 2019, Haley had reportedly upset Vice President Mike Pence’s team by refusing to publicly repudiate a Wall Street Journal editorial calling on Trump to choose her as his running mate. White House advisor Kellyanne Conway raised eyebrows by responding to Haley on Twitter: “Trump-PENCE 2020”
  • As the 2020 campaign ramped up, rumors that Trump would pick Haley as his vice president were so persistent that the president himself had to respond. Trump confirmed that he was sticking with VP Pence, but told Fox News that Haley would “absolutely” be involved in his re-election campaign. Trump added: “She is a friend of mine, she endorsed me with the most beautiful endorsement you’ve ever heard. She did a great job at the U.N.”

In April 2021, Nikki Haley vowed that she would not be a candidate for president and promised to back Donald Trump if he decided to run again in 2024.

  • Haley was asked if she would support Trump if he ran for president again, and she said "yes." Haley then said she would not seek her party's nomination if Trump were also running.
  • "I would not run if President Trump ran, and I would talk to him about it," Haley said in response to questions from The Associated Press.

In January 2023, weeks before Haley launched her presidential campaign, Donald Trump revealed that Haley called him to seek his permission first.

  • Trump said: “I talked to her for a little while, I said, ‘Look, you know, go by your heart if you want to run,'” “She’s publicly said that ‘I would never run against my president, he was a great president.'... “She called me and said she’d like to consider it, and I said ‘You should do it.”

Throughout her campaign, Haley has been reluctant to criticize Trump, even as she claims to be running against him.

  • The day Haley announced her campaign in February 2023, she appeared on Sean Hannity’s show. Hannity asked her twice to explain how she differed from Trump on policy. Haley repeatedly dodged the question; she could not even provide one example of where she diverged from Trump.
  • Haley has praised Trump as “the right president at the right time,” leaving some voters with the impression that Haley is a typical politician trying to “play both sides.”
  • Even before launching her campaign, Haley had a long history of flip-flops on Trump.

Nikki Haley and Donald Trump have combined to spend millions on attack ads to smear Ron DeSantis - all while Haley has refused to attack Trump at all.

  • DeSantis has been the target of more than $30 million in negative expenditures so far, more than any other candidate in the race. The bulk of this spending has come from groups supporting Trump and Haley.
  • Even as MAGA Inc is now on air in New Hampshire with attack ads against Haley, she is still refusing to fight back.
  • With Trump as the front-runner, why isn’t Haley spending on ads against him? The most logical explanation is that she’s running for second place.

Kevin McCarthy, whom Trump supported in his short-lived tenure as House Speaker, recently said that Trump should choose Haley as his VP to attract “Never Trump” voters. Others close to Trump, including his own family, have made comments confirming that Donald Trump is considering Nikki Haley as his running mate.

  • Lara Trump: When asked about the possibility of Haley as VP, Lara Trump said: "Crazier things have happened. I don't know. I would never say never with Donald J. Trump. Never say never."'
  • Donald Trump Jr.: When asked if his father might choose Haley as VP, Donald Trump Jr did not deny that Haley was under consideration. Instead, he responded "I would go to great lengths to make sure that doesn't happen."
  • Marjorie Taylor Greene: The pro-Trump congresswoman posted on X: “MAGA would revolt if Nikki Haley were to even be given an internship in Trump’s next administration. She represents the neocon establishment America last wing of the Republican Party that we are absolutely done with. Also, she lied and said she would not run against Trump.”
